in one of the best things about gen 1 was that they had interests, hobbies and talents - michelle knows at least three languages, jal played clarinet, maxxie danced etc. we saw them in class doing work - unlike in gen 2 where school was just a backdrop. gen 2 characters had no interests, unless you count the half-hearted attempt at making naomi interested in politics. they improved on all of this in gen 3, thank god. not to say this doesn't happen in other high school shows ramble ramble skins gen 1 april pearson
